HOA Annual Meeting Minutes 2017

The annual meeting of the Arlington HOA was held on Sept 20th, 2017 at 630pm at the North Liberty Rec Center.

–Introductions of your HOA board members were Brent Smith/President, Steve Manary/Vice President and Ben Cannady/Sec/Treasurer

–Part 7 Discussion included specifics of agreement between John Moreland and our HOA board about grading/seeding/and possible tree planting prior to turn over

–Quality Care will remain our lawn maintenance and landscaping contractor for 2018

–Ponds–Membership was brought up to speed on the boards vote to replace the Penn Street fountain.  Brent and Steve gave their reasons for voting yes and Ben gave his reasons for voting no.  It passed on a 2-1 vote to replace the fountain at a cost of $16,000.  Discussion was had about the middle pond and the ongoing dispute with Penn Heights about upkeep and the blue green algae issue.

–2017-2018 financials were handed out to all those in attendance including detailed expenditures/billings/cost savings/2018 estimated costs.  Your board has voted to not raise dues in 2018.  Dues will remain $250 per year and will be assessed in January with a due date of February.

–Open discussion was had and issues discussed were tree plantings in the small triangle area off of Juniper.  That contract has been given to Country Landscapes.

Idea was brought up about taking our bank balance and placing it in an investment vehicle that could gain $ but still be available for expenditures.

Discussed possible signage for streets to slow traffic/Dubuque St congestion

Meeting was concluded about 8pm
